Bass Champs prefish Day 2

After ploughing through about 40 Spots on different...spots

213FlappinHog.jpgAftering ploughing through about 40 Spots...on different spots   Saturday with a baby Senko on a Carolina rig I decided to send the day shallow Sunday. I continued to struggle to catch any size. It's funny how Champs being a 3 fish limit changes your prefishing, 1-3 lb fish mean absolutely nothing, it's like they are non-keepers. I spent the day fishing needle grass, both with a frog and flipping a weighted Senko and Flappin Hog, the inside grass line, lilly pads and then the wilows and buck brush with the same. I caught a lot of fish, including one really nice flathead catfish. However the catfish was the highlight of the day. At this point I have nothing to lose, we have (I say "we", I'm fishing this one by myself) $280 invested in the entry fee just to make the Championship. So I'm going to pick up my frog and try the blind squirrel approach shallow. If that doesn't work by 11-12 I'm going back out deep in hopes that the largemouth finally show up on the summer haunts this week.
